What do people choose at random?
If you live in California, Norway, or anywhere else that’s suitable for electric vehicles, you’ve probably seen a Tesla Model Y. It’s possible you’ve also seen the all-new Ford Mustang Mach-E. However, no matter where you live, it’s also possible that you haven’t seen any of these cars in the wild.
Some of us at InsideEVs live in Michigan, and we have yet to see a Tesla Model Y in person. We were lucky enough to experience the Mustang Mach-E, but only because Kyle Conner showed up on a test drive.
EVs are rare in many areas. Plus, some people just aren’t careful. However, if you park a new Model Y in line with a new Mach-E in an area where passers-by can’t really help but notice, you’re bound to get attention. What is arguably even more interesting is the way people react to electrical crossovers. Which do they prefer and why?
Tesla owner and YouTube influencer Gjeebs does just that. He had both a white Tesla Model Y and a red Ford Mustang Mach-E, which he took to various places to check people’s reactions. He also talks to people passing by, shares information about the cars with them and asks them what they prefer.
We think this is a really compelling video because it gives us an idea of what random people think when they see these EVs. While some have no idea about the cars, others seem at least somewhat knowledgeable. However, we think the best part here is that Gjeebs basically advocates electric cars by grabbing people’s attention and educating them. This is arguably something every EV owner should consider doing.
Gjeebs says he was impressed with the reactions of the people and the overall result was quite surprising. Watch the video to see for yourself. Then leave us your wisdom in the comments section below.
