The TeamLease lease, train and deploy model is accepted
As the concept of “benchmark” or non-project employees fades, recruiting firm Teamlease’s hire, train and deploy (HTD) model has proven useful for bridging the gap between demand and supply of IT talent.
In this model, a client assigns a specific skill requirement to TeamLease, who then selects candidates with three to seven years of market experience, trains and deploys them with the client.
The model helps clients save time in training candidates, who are immediately deployed on projects and billed from day one of hire, said Sunil Chemmankotil, Head of Specialist Recruitment Division, TeamLease Services.
HTD is a talent sourcing solution that enables clients to hire the right talent for the right role, ready to deliver. Candidates with basic criteria/skills are hired by the recruiting firm and given 15-20 days of rigorous advanced skills training and then deployed to contracted projects, he said. Activity area
The training program is jointly developed by customers and TeamLease Digital’s internal EdTech organization. Customers not only save time and money with the HTD model, but also get resources with the exact skills for their projects. HTD is quickly becoming an important strategy to bridge the gap between talent supply and demand, he said.
Some of the most in-demand skills in HTD are Mainframe, Dot Net, Node JS, PHP, cloud computing, Service Desk, Data Analytics, Microservices, Devops, digital skills and emerging skills, he said. Trained candidates are on TeamLease lists, he added
When an SAP consulting firm wanted 20 plug-and-play SAP security resources, with expertise in Fiori, HANA, and BW security, Teamlease brought in resources with three to five years of experience and a basic understanding and exposure to SAP security concepts with analysis. Twenty candidates were onboarded in 45 days (including the technical interview with the client and three weeks of training) with the client, he said, without giving the client’s name due to confidentiality clauses.
“The HTD model is a win-win situation for the client, the candidate and us. The client gets skilled labor, while we get a bonus for service, and the candidate gets a 30-40% pay raise,” he said. A candidate with SAP Security (Fiori, HANA and BW security) with three to five years of experience earns ₹80,000 per month, and after the HTD gets ₹1,11,000 after a rigorous 20-day training program, a- he added.
Sukumar, who has five years of experience in the Oracle E-Business suite, was placed under the HTD model to work on the Oracle security project. “My recent transition from Oracle Apps Developer to Oracle Security Consultant gives me an exciting new set of responsibilities and challenges,” he said.
“We executed 10 projects in FY22 as HTD is more accepted by customers. We already have an order pipeline for another 10 projects in various skills in Q1. We are seeing growth of over 100 % Q-on-Q in our HTD business,” he said.
