“Alfa Romeo will launch a new model every year until 2026,” Imparato said at an event hosted by an Italian dealership, in comments later confirmed by a spokesperson for Stellantis.
From 2027, all new Alfa Romeo vehicles would be electric, he said.
The Alfa Romeo Tonale, which was originally scheduled to start production in late 2021, will be presented in March next year, and sales in Italy will begin in June, Imparato said.
Lancia chief Luca Napolitano said at the same event that he presented Stellantis CEO Carlo Tavares with a 10-year plan for the brand, which only sells one model, the little Ypsilon, and only in Italy.
The strategy aims to extend the brand to other European markets, in particular France, Germany and the Nordic countries, with a focus on large cities, to complement the premium offer of the Alfa Romeo and DS group, a he declared.
